Happy to Translate presents at Quality Scotland Voluntary Sector Network
28th February 2019
Our Marketing & Development Officer, Katrina McEntegart recently gave a presentation outlining the commonalities between Happy to Translate's 7 Key Commitments and the EFQM Model at a meeting of Quality Scotland's Voluntary Sector Network.
Katrina highlighted how working within HTT's 7 Key Commitments can support organisations to evidence each of the Fundamental Concepts and the Excellence Model by working collaboratively with HTT and professional language providers.
Taking the EFQM Fundamental Concept of 'Adding Value for Customers' as an example; this aligns with the HTT Key Commitments of 'Promote equal access to information’ and also 'Actively promote HTT to the communities you serve'.
In other words, know your customers - think specifically the ethnic minority demographic and how you might reach out to them by using HTT to overcome language barriers. HTT membership actively promotes accessibility by informing ethnic minority communities about your services and that you are equipped to welcome and fully engage with them using confidential, professional language support where necessary. This supports customers to maintain their independence and make informed decisions, enabling them to feel empowered by taking control of their personal health, well being and finance.
